About The Vichy New York Times
A chronicle of the paper's editorial failures.
The Vichy New York Times is a private, non-commercial archive documenting ways The New York Times fails its readers and is leading America to its destruction — sanewashing Trump, platforming the far right, pushing transphobia, cheerleading war, taking corporate PR at face value, and repeatedly failing to note that an 'average citizen' it quotes is a local Republican Party official.
These are not one-time journalistic mistakes. All of the above are elements of deliberate New York Times editorial policy. I created this website because I got annoyed about forgetting specific incidents in this cascade of insults. I want everyone to see the pattern. I want to make it clear that The New York Times is not a neutral default source, that choosing to read and subscribe is choosing to support right-wing propaganda, and you could be choosing differently.
I welcome tips on new and past New York Times failures. DM me on Bluesky or email me at vichy-nytimes@proton.me.
This site is a parody in the style of the paper it criticizes. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The New York Times Company.
