Leavitt Leaves - She Was So Helpful
New York Times reporter Eric Lipton thanks outgoing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as she moves on to new lies
NYTimes reporter Eric Lipton commemorated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt moving on to better opportunities with:
Leavitt’s job is explicitly lying to Lipton and his colleagues in the Washington press corps. Every PR flack lies, but as Trump’s press secretary Leavitt has led the way in abuse, mendacity, and bald-faced lying. Lipton’s pinned post is self-congratulation on winning an award for investigative journalism and his relentless pursuit of truth and accountability.
Bullshit. What a New York Times reporter really likes is someone who makes his job easy. Karoline Leavitt can abuse the public trust all day and call Lipton and his colleagues traitors to their faces, but she’s worth thanking because she picks up the phone and simpers nicely in private. A reporter who is so easy to manipulate should find a different job. Stenography is a dying career, but it’s dying more slowly than journalism.
She’s not your friend, Eric. She’s not a coworker. She’s your adversary.
