Trump's Spending Spree Hits $40 Trillion

The New York Times doesn't mention the man responsible for a quarter of that.

pie chart of the US federal debt. $40 trillion total, 25% under Trump

Another sterling example of The New York Times’ exoneration of Trump.

The NY Times writes that “Trump’s promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America’s debt burden have been hampered by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.” As if it’s just a run of bad luck instead of an ongoing con job against the American people.

This is America’s spending spree, in that we did in fact elect Trump president, twice. In a much more specific way, it is Donald Trump’s spending spree, since set the priorities and signed the budget. The idea that Trump and the Republican Party care about the deficit except as a way to hypocritically sabotage spending on social programs is one of the load-bearing pillars of right-wing propaganda.

Donald Trump is responsible for $10.2 trillion of the $40 trillion US federal debt. Basic pattern recognition says his second term would be more of the same. The word for a promise made with no intention of fulfilling it “lie”.
